Wednesday, October 10

*A former Brownwood resident, 44-year-old Richard Tyrone Bryant, was arrested after turning himself in on Wednesday related to a warrant for his arrest involving sexual assault and indecency with a child.

Bryant, who now lives in Dallas, was recently indicted by a Brown County Grand Jury on one charge of indecency with a child and four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.  Brownwood Police Department officials confirm the arrest and stated that there are at least two female victims under the age of 14 involved who have made outcries against Bryant.

The offenses occurred in Brownwood; however the dates of the offenses were not released nor were the details of the case.

*1:21pm-Brownwood Police were called to the area of 3rd Street and Avenue E regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, a man reported being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle, which caused him to fall.  The suspect vehicle fled the scene.

*2:12pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Monterrey regarding theft by an employee.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51-year-old Ray Hernandez for driving while license invalid.

Thursday, October 11

*8:15am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Avenue D regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated someone “keyed” her vehicle and flattened two tires.

*9:24am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that two wallets were stolen out of the vehicle.

*10:59am-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft of property.  According to the report, a cell phone was stolen in the 1600 block of 2nd Street on Sunday, October 7th.  The suspect is known, the report states.

*8:05pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on Killarney Drive regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complaint’s 51” flat screen television was stolen.  It was valued at $700, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy noticed a known suspect, identified as 32-year-old Shawna Roachelle Grantham running across the road on Shannon Drive, near Blarney Drive regarding an outstanding warrant.  According to the report, upon taking Grantham into custody, the deputy found an orange cut straw with methamphetamine in her front left pocket.  Grantham was arrested for the outstanding warrant and for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

Friday, October 12, 2012

*12:15am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report the complainant’s vehicle had been vandalized.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
