Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 73–77 degrees; 9.63′ low. Black bass are good on dark red crankbaits, watermelon Bass Hogg spinnerbaits, and Grande Bass Rattle Snakes early. Hybrid striper are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are good on small spinnerbaits and Li’l Fishies off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs over brush piles and under lighted docks at night. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes. Yellow catfish to 20 pounds are good on trotlines baited with perch.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 76–80 degrees; 12.31′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon Rat–L–Traps, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 71–77 degrees; 32.21′ low. Black bass are fair on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, shallow running shad pattern crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water lightly stained; 74–78 degrees; 4.24′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and small spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs and white crankbaits. White bass are fair on pet spoons and minnows. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on goldfish, shrimp, and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
