Early High School Announces 2012 Homecoming Queen & King Nominees

Early High School Students have nominated three senior girls for homecoming queen and three senior boys for homecoming king (pictured above).  The queen candidates this year are Chelsea Johnston, Callie Campbell, and Logan Speck.  The king candidates this year are Payton Ashworth, Fidel Olalde, and Grant Gowdy.

Three other girls have been selected as duchesses, while three other boys have been selected as beaus.  They are juniors Aspen Escamilla, daughter of Stephanie and Mike Hutcheson and Jesse Escamilla, and Trey Glasscock, son of Guy and Ann Glasscock, sophomores Meagan Sessler, daughter of Paul and Melissa Sessler, and Joel Justice, son of Rick and Celeste Justice, and freshmen Beale Madison Gordon, daughter of John and Vann Stewart-Gordon, and Riley Mitchell, son of Kim and Terry Mitchell.  The Homecoming court is pictured below.

Chelsea Johnston

The daughter of Shannon and Yoena Johnston, Chelsea has been a participant in cross country, basketball, and track.  She has been a regional qualifier in both cross country and track, and has been honored as the cross country MVP for two years.  Chelsea is an A-Honor Roll student, as well as a part of Brownwood Evangelism Center’s Heat youth group.  She has also participated in choir, receiving superior ratings and advancing to state.  Chelsea’s future plans are to attend college for radiology and possibly continue her athletic career.

Payton Ashworth

The son of Scott Ashworth and Treasa Steele, Payton has participated in football, basketball, powerlifting, and baseball.  He also participates in track and was a regional qualifier.  Payton’s future plans are to attend college and become a Mechanical Engineer.

Callie Campbell

The daughter of Mark and Kathy Campbell, Callie has been a cheerleader and is a cheer captain this year.  She has participated in cross country, and choir, as well as track, in which she was a regional qualifier.Callie is a member of First United Methodist Church and is a youth leader for Impact youth group.  She is a member of The National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among All American National Scholars, the National Society of High School Scholars, and has been recognized with the US Achievement Academy’s National Award for Science.  Callie’s future plans are to attend either Texas Tech or Texas A&M as a pre-dental student and then to continue her education to become an orthodontist.

Fidel Olalde

The son of Elizabeth and Fidencio Olalde, Fidel has participated in football, powerlifting, band, choir, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.   Fidel is a member of Salt Creek Baptist Church. His future plans are to attend college and to earn a degree in Criminal Justice.

Logan Speck

The daughter of Fritz and Kristie Speck, Logan has participated in Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and athletics.  Logan is an A-Honor Roll student and the secretary of the National Honor Society.  She currently serves as Early High School’s Student Body President, FFA President, and Belles Captain.  Logan will participate in UIL this year and will also be running for the Brown County Youth Fair Queen.  She attends Salt Creek Baptist Church, and will graduate on the distinguished plan.  Logan’s future plans are to attend Texas A&M University and major in Biomedical Sciences in hopes of becoming a veterinarian.

Grant Gowdy

The son of Gayland and Shelley Gowdy, Grant is a member of the National Honor Society.  He has participated in cross country, track, and basketball, as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Grant currently serves as Early High School’s Student Body Vice-President.  Grant’s future plans are to attend college and earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
