Darvin C. “Dobby” Roberts, age 69, of Brownwood died Wednesday evening at the Abilene Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmie Mize officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
He was born June 29, 1943 in Brownwood, the son of the late Darvin C. and Annie Jo DePriest Roberts Sr. He was married to Ira Sue Hicks in Brownwood on July 28, 1961. He retired from the Texas Youth Commission working in the warehouse supply and was a Baptist.
He was a big NASCAR racing fan and a Texas Rangers baseball fan. He had lived all his life in the Brownwood area and will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Ira Sue Roberts of Brownwood
