County Commissioners Set to Approve Tax Increase September 28

commcourt2The Brown County Commissioners Court of Brown County is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 28, 2012 at Brown County Commissioner’s Courtroom, Brown County Courthouse, Brownwood, Texas at 9:00am.

The Brown County Commissioners Court conducted public hearings on September 17,  2012 and September 20, 2012 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of Brown County from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 4.92 percent.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised last year at last year’s tax rate of $0.5169 for each $100 of taxable value was $10,862,070.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.5350 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax rolls this year, is $11,306,334.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.5350 for each $100 of taxable value, including the tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $11,428,034.
