Weekly Fishing Reports for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water lightly stained; 79–83 degrees; 13.52’ low. Black bass to 3 pounds are fair on redbug and green pumpkin Grande Bass soft plastics, and on crankbaits and topwaters early and late. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are excellent on minnows, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps under lights at night. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles under lights at night in 5–18 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish to 25 pounds are fair on live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 81–85 degrees; 17.94’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on liver and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 78–83 degrees; 46.08’ low. Black bass are good on Pop–Rs early, later switching to Texas rigs, jigs, spoons and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on topwaters and slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 81–85 degrees; 4.00′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon topwaters and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows. Crappie are good on live minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
