Three Boys and Girls Club families came away from their summer parenting classes offered by Family Services Center as big winners. Just for taking the classes, families were eligible to win a computer, a one-year family membership to the club or four tickets to Schlitterbahn. John Castilaw (pictured below) won the Boys and Girls Club 2012-2013 Family Membership, and Patrece Fortune (pictured above) won the Schlitterbahn tickets. A third lucky person took home a computer.

Parenting skills were taught this summer for several weeks at the Boys and Girls Club at 1600 Avenue K in Brownwood. Several of the attendees who had signed up hoping to win the computer were very pleased with all the knowledge they accumulated that would help them be even better parents. They learned skills including active listening, assertive discipline, consequences, problem solving and many more.
