Helen Fay Brewer

BrewerFayFuneral services Helen Fay Brewer, age 91, of Lake Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church with Rick Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the May Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.  Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Brewer died Thursday, September 6, 2012.

Fay was born on May 5, 1921 in Oakdale, Louisiana to Mark and Dora Mae (Hensley) Newbury.  She was raised in May, Texas.  Fay worked in management for Mitchell’s Department Store in several locations throughout Texas.  She retired to Lake Brownwood in the late 1990’s and was a longtime and faithful member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church.  She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play football.

Fay is survived by her sister Aline Teague of Brownwood and her daughters-in-law Suzanne and Lisa Brewer. She is also survived her grandchildren Becky Williams, Sigrid Vale and Zachary Brewer, as well as her great grand-children Leah Parker  Bobby Brewer and Halden, Kayla, and Reagan Vale and her great-great grandson Jayce Parker; nieces and nephews, Don Newbury of Burleson, Jolene Cook of Lake Brownwood, Dora Faye McKenna of Fort Worth, Fred Newbury of Dallas, Terry Sutton of Arizona, Jamie Sutton of Wisconsin, Lynn Partain of Shreveport, Louisiana, Arlene Padgett of Florida, Denise Mungo of North Carolina, Nick Newbury of Florida, and Jean Dodson of Louisiana, Marie Aten of Arizona.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents, a husband Earnest L. Brewer, four brothers, Jack, Joyce, Harry, and Jimmy Newbury, two sisters, Mildred Sutton, Edwina Jones, and stepsons Donald and Ronald Brewer.

Her family dearly loved Fay and she will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 4300 N County Road 557, Brownwood TX 76801.
