Funeral Services for Carl Wayne Newton, age 62, of Brownwood, will be held Thursday August 23, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Church of Christ in Goldthwaite, Texas with Pastor Kevin Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview-Newton Cemetery in Mills County. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood. He passed away Saturday August 18, 2012 at his home in Brownwood. Carl was born on December 07, 1949 in Goldthwaite, Texas to Calno Kelton and Tommie Claudine (Hairston) Newton.

Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Field Medic; he also received several awards for his service during the war. He spent most of his life as a Juvenile Correctional Officer for TJJD, formerly called TYC.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Donna Wootton of Brownwood; 2 sons; Joshua Clark and wife Tiffany of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Bryan and wife Annie Heiskell of Harlingen, Texas; 4 daughters; Molly Newton Jenson and husband Stan of Rigby, Idaho; Questie Newton of St. Anthony, Idaho, LaNita Seals and husband Daniel of Sweetwater, Texas, and Stephanie Heiskell of Harlingen, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 2   brothers; Boyce Cloyce of Brownwood, and Daniel Newton of Brownwood; numerous nieces and nephews, also beloved pets; Lilly and Sissy. Carl is preceded in death by his parents; Calno and Tommie Newton.
