Weekly Fishing Reports for Area Lakes

Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 87–91 degrees; 12.69′ low. Black bass are fair on perch colored spinnerbaits and soft plastic worms over brush piles. Hybrid striper are fair trolling shad. White bass are fair on minnows and Persuader crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with shrimp and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 84–88 degrees; 17.45′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits and Carolina rigged soft plastics. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 84–91 degrees; 44.57′ low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, midday switching to jigs, spoons, medium to deep diving crankbaits, Texas rigs and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. White bass are good on slabs and Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 90–94 degrees; 3.00′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits and some topwaters. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.
