BFD Fire and Rescue Reports 8/13

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of August 5-11, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 22 medical emergencies, 7 motor vehicle accidents, 1 fire calls and 2 public assist calls.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, August 5

*1:44am – BFD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on FM 45.  Firefighters checked for injuries.

Tuesday, August 7

*11:50pm- BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of Main Blvd regarding a porch fire.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find an object which was laying on front porch, and the fire out upon their arrival.  Firefighters used thermal imager to check for hot spots on porch. The Brownwood fire marshal was notified and arrived on scene with the arson dog to investigate.

Wednesday, August 8

*1:41am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle in the 1700 block of 3rd Street which involved a single vehicle which struck a utility pole and a building.  Firefighters assisted Guardian with the loading of a patient.

*12:59pm – BFD was called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Austin Avenue and W. Commerce.  Fire crews checked for injuries.

Thursday, August 9

*5:31pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 1st Street and Avenue K.  Firefighters assisted Guardian with loading patient.

Saturday, August 11

*5:24am – BFD was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident on County Road 234.  No occupants were found in the vehicle.

*12:42pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at Southside Drive and Parkway involving a single motorcycle. Firefighters assisted with medical assessment and basic care.

*2:11pm – BFD was called to a two vehicle accident at 400 E. Commerce. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.
