The Mule Deer Foundation Held their 1st Annual Mule Deer Foundation banquet at the Grand Starz Hall on Saturday and made a donation to Brown County 4-H Shooting Sports.  The Mule Deer Foundation is a proud sponsor of the USA Olympic Shooting team.

All funds raised at the event were donated to the West Texas mule deer projects and Brown County 4-H shooting sports.

After the Brown County 4-H Shooting Sports team won the National shoot in Nebraska in June of this year, Russ Porter of the Mule Deer Foundation spoke of the team members’ potential, “Someday these young men may be in the Olympics.”

According to officials of the local Mule Deer Foundation, mule deer are the only declining big game animal in the US. The Mule Deer Foundation is working hard to turn this around with projects such as, habitat restoration, highway crossings, fawn tracking and predator control projects.
