City Announces Reduced Hours, Seasonal Closing Dates for Public Swimming Pools

mainAs back to school activities begin, the summer season for local swimming pools is winding down.  The City of Brownwood announced this week reduced hours and upcoming seasonal closing dates for city swimming pools with the end of their summer season.

The Camp Bowie Aquatic Center on 3201 Milam Drive will drop the morning session which is held from 10:15-1:45 pm starting on Tuesday August 7th but will keep the regular times for the second session which begin at 2:15 pm. The Aquatic Center will close for the season on Sunday August 12th. The new hours for the week of August 7th are as follows:

  • Mondays – CLOSED
  • Tuesdays –  2:15 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Wednesday –2:15 pm to 5:45 pm
  • Thursdays –  2:15 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Friday – 2:15 pm to 5:45 pm
  • Saturday – 2:15 pm to 5:45pm
  • Sunday –  1:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Lane swimming from 7:00-9:00 am will continue on Tuesdays through Fridays each week.

The Wiggins Pool on 1100 Victoria will be closing for the 2012 season on Sunday August 5th.
