BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 7/16

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of July 8-14, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 24 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 3 fire calls, and 2 hazardous material calls.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday July 8

9:13am – BFD responded to a hazardous material call in the 2100 block of Ave B. Incident was determined to be a natural gas leak. Firefighters tightened meter plug and notified Atmos.

4:31pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident on the corner of CR 267 & FM 2126. One vehicle roll over.  Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid. They assisted loading patient into Guardian EMS.

11:19pm – BFD responded to a hazardous material call in the  2700 block of Memorial Park.  Incident was determined to be a natural gas leak.  They arrived to find that 2 pilot lights were out on stove.  Gas was cut off to the stove and area was ventilated.

Monday, July 9

11:46am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident near the corner of CR 257 & CR 258 Single vehicle rollover. Checked for injuries and provide first aid.

7:57pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 400 block of 7th Street. They responded to a call of arcing power lines.  Several residents in area were without power. Power company was notified.

Tuesday, July 10

4:47pm – BFD responded to a grass fire in the 6000 block of CR 192.  They arrived on scene with Bangs VFD to a 5 acre grass fire.  Fire was extinguished quickly.

5:39pm – BFD responded to a fire call on CR 234. They were dispatched for smoke in the area. After investigation, nothing was found.
