John Travis Blair

blairJohn Travis Blair passed away on June 30, 2012 at his home in San Saba, at the age of 86. He was born to John Travis and Lometa Blair of San Saba on April 14, 1926. Travis married Marie Pafford of San Saba in 1944 and moved to California. They had two daughters Judy and Lynda. In 1961 they returned to San Saba where he enjoyed ranching and hard work. In 1995 he married Shirley Allen of Lampasas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Judy Blair; sisters Wanda Smith, Dennie Spinks, and Mabel Ledbetter. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Blair; daughter, Lynda and husband, Kenneth Hargrove of Longview; sister, Julia Wilson of San Saba; and stepchildren, Sherry and Paul Bestine of Austin, Tommy and Janice Allen of Lampasas, Jimmy and Ann Allen of Lampasas; grandchildren, Shannon and Daniel Smith of Whitehouse, Chad and Jackie Hargrove of Kilgore; 5 great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren and, 9 step great grandchildren, plus many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba, with Brother Curtis Chandler and Mary Ledbetter officiating.  Interment will follow at Wallace Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 PM prior to the service at Blaylock Funeral Chapel.  Friends may sign the guestbook at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.  Blaylock Funeral Chapel of San Saba is in charge of arrangements.
