BarreraJoeFuneral services for Joe Barrera, 64, of Early, will be held at 10 AM on Monday, July 2, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony King officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park , under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, July 1, at the funeral home.

Mr. Barrera passed away on June 28, 2012, at his home in Early. Joe Barrera was born on October 12, 1947, in Austin Texas to Marcus and Gonzala Barrera. He had worked as a machinist and in landscaping and had lived in Brown County for the last two years, moving here from Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella Sanchez of Early; children, Irma and Gus Villarreal of Brownwood, Michael Gene Barrera of Milwaukee WI, Marquita and Jesse Lujan of Ft. Worth, Elijah Sanchez of Brownwood and Sajid Lee Sanchez of Austin. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Nina, Ashley, Nico, Marcus, Elizabeth, Monty , Victoria , Gloria, Priscilla, Junior, Julius, Jessyka, Juwan, Mikaya, Alex and Leslie; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Barrera of McKinney and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.
