Brownwood Qualifies for State Tournament Saturday in 7-on-7 – Photos

Brownwood went undefeated Saturday in the 7-on-7 Division II state qualifying tournament held in Brownwood ending the day with a narrow overtime victory against Anson in the semifinals.  Brownwood and Crane both advance to the state 7-on-7 tournament to be held in July with Brownwood taking first place on the day after a coin flip with Crane.

In pool play, Brownwood defeated Eastland 41-14, Stephenville 32-13, and Dublin 45-20 in pool play before winning in the semifinal round.

Early was taken out in the semifinals on Saturday with a loss to Crane.  Early beat Waco Reicher 20-18 in pool play but was defeated by Abilene Wylie and Gatesville.    Bangs beat Merkel 34-32 in pool play but was defeated by Anson and Andrews and didn’t advance to the semifinal Saturday.

Brownwood will play in the 7-on-7 Division II state tournament on July 19 & 20 at Texas A&M University in College Station.  CLICK HERE to see the full list of qualifying teams.
