Members of the Howard Payne University football staff recently gave of their time and worked the annual NCAA Football/AT&T Cotton Bowl Youth Clinic at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Hunter Sims, Lance Unger, Randy Miller, Guy Ament and Brandon Day worked the clinic representing HPU and were the only American Southwest Conference coaches working the clinic. The free camp was from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm on Tuesday, June 12th and included North Texas area college football coaching staffs and student-athletes as coaches for the clinic. The clinic’s purpose was to instruct kids ages 7 to 14 in fundamental skills and drills, including tackling, receiving, kicking and passing.  As part of NCAA Football’s mission to promote the game, youth football clinics teach the fundamentals of football and foster a positive message of sportsmanship and good character. The support of college coaching staffs is vital to providing kids with memorable experiences such as these.

NCAA Football youth clinics are intended to offer youth an opportunity to exchange idle time for the chance to learn more about their dreams of succeeding on and off the field.
