Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley’s old friend and former NFL player, Dallas Cowboy Tony “The Thrill” Hill and the Texas Rangers have donated collectible signed memorabilia to help bring NBA star Chris Herren’s powerful message about the dangers of alcohol and drugs to the youth of Brown County this summer.  These items will be sold in an informal auction, according to Corley.

“I have all the auction items in my office and I can tell you they are all in perfect condition,” said Corley. “The Texas Rangers and former Dallas Cowboy Tony Hill have been very gracious to donate items for auction to help this great cause.”

The first item is a signed Nolan Ryan official 1993 Texas Rangers jersey with a letter of authenticity.

Another is a signed baseball from MVP Josh Hamilton which comes in a nice case along with a Josh Hamilton baseball card (public relations type with no stats on the back).

The final item is a Dallas Cowboys football signed by former Cowboy, Tony “The Thrill” Hill.  There is also a signed Topps 1982 football card that will be included with the football.

“Tony is a good friend of mine and I can tell you he is also a great person,” Corley said. “I appreciate his support very much.”

All funds from the auction go toward getting Chris Herren to bring his testimony to Brownwood, Texas. “We still have a couple of thousand dollars to go to cover all the expenses.   Thanks in advance to everyone for their support!” said Corley.  “Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all.”

For more information about the auction items, contact Chief Corley by emailing mcorley@ci.brownwood.tx.us, or by calling 325-646-2525.  Bids may be placed through the facebook group page Brown County Drug Training.
