JamesJerryAFuneral Services for Jerry A. James, age 69, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church at Lake Brownwood.  Interment will follow at the Rocky Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Heartland Funeral Home.  Mr. James passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 in a Bangs, Texas Nursing Home

Jerry Aldon James was born on January 10, 1943 to Bill (C.W.) and Tessie Wilson James in Lamesa, Texas where he grew up and attended school. From a young age he was very involved in the Boy Scouts.   He served in the United States Army and attended South Plains College in Levelland.  On March 6, 1963 he married Vinna Culp in Lamesa.  They moved to Lake Brownwood March 26, 1978 on Good Friday with God’s blessings.  They and several other couples started the First Baptist Church at Lake Brownwood in their home and he was a charter member of the church.  Jerry owned and operated James Appliance Repair and enjoyed guitars and music.

Survivors:

Wife:  Vinna James of Lake Brownwood

Daughter:  Jerrie Ann Ward and husband Dusty of Lake Brownwood

Sons:  Corky James of Lake Brownwood and Mark J. James of Lake Brownwood

Grandchildren:  Devin and Kinsie Ward of Lake Brownwood, Payton Lynn James of Brownwood, Riley Dalton and Hailey James of Brookesmith, Raylie James of Bangs, Shadoc James of Harker Heights, Jayton, Justin and Tanner James of Lake Brownwood.

One Great Grandson:  Slayden James

Sister:  Linda Pierce of Lamesa

Brother:  Billy Joe James and wife Judy Kay of Bakersfield, California

Dear Friends:  Ron and Lilly Sharp and Jackie Hood

Preceded in death by his son Jerry Lynn James, father Bill (C.W.) James, mother Tessie Wilkerson, step- father Ken Wilkerson and brother-in-law Bobby Ray Pierce.
