Reminder: Brownwood Juneteenth Celebration Coming June 15 & 16

juneteenthlogoThe annual Brownwood Juneteenth Celebration is right around the corner and organizers are planning a full weekend of activities, live music, games, and fun.

Activities and events such as a softball tournament, Kiddie Korner,  games, concessions, live music and more will be featured on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 at Cecil Holman Park  (1100 Hall Street) and the Bennie Houston Community Center  (505 Cordell).

The highlight Saturday evening will be a free live performance by the Rob Holbert Band in the Bennie Houston Community Center from 8pm to midnight.

Full schedule of events below.

Friday June 15th,  6:00pm to Midnight

3:00pm —-Co-Ed Softball Tournament “Double Elimination” (1st game to be played at 3)

Contact: Walt Williams @ 325-642-6606 to enter a team

6:00pm – 12:00am — Concession booths, Kiddie Korner, Cards & Dominoes (under the pavilion) and DJ “Slick” will start.

Saturday June 16th, 9am to Midnight

9:00am Concessions open

TBA – Co-Ed Softball Championship Game

Cards & Dominoes

12:00pm Kiddie Korner opens

Music in the park with DJ “Slick” in the park until midnight.

12:00pm – to 1:00pm Free Hotdogs for KIDS only.

2:00pm  Wii Scavenger Hunt

4:00pm Free Watermelon for KIDS only 

6:00pm  Line Dance Marathon  Youth, Teens & Adult categories.  (prize awarded for winners)

8:00pm – 12:00am “Rob Holbert Band” performs in the Bennie Houston Community Center.
