Brown County Fair Association hosted the 2nd Annual BCFA Cook-off Friday and Saturday, June 1-2.

Special guest Johnny Trigg of TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters, aka “the Godfather of BBQ,” along with Jamie Geer with his famous Jambo Pits smokers were special guests who competed this year, taking top places in the brisket cook-off.

Trigg showed off his brisket cooking skills winning the Champion’s trophy, $600 cash and box seats for all three nights of the 2012 Brown County Rodeo.  Trigg’s wife Angie was also recognized for her cooking skills, with her beans winning first place.  Pictured above are the the Triggs with BCFA members (left to right) Mark Baugh, Brent Mosley, Angie Trigg, Johnny Trigg and Charlie Cabler.

Entries were judged based on flavor, texture and presentation.  Entry fees paid out 75% in the brisket division and 100% in the beans and pork spare ribs.  There were 18 briskets, 11 spare ribs, and 4 bean entries.

Funds raised by the event benefit the Brown County Youth Fair Association.  Results are as follows:
