Law enforcement arrests and reports released May 24 & 25, 2012

Wednesday, May 23

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Michael Caraway on multiple warrants as well as resisting arrest.

Thursday, May 24

*12:11am – Brownwood Police responded to the 700 block of Avenue J in reference to an assault.

*12:53am – Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Opal Dr. for a wide right turn, according to police reports.  The driver of the vehicle, 58-year-old Linda Loyd of Zephyr, was arrested for DWI 2nd.

*6:41am – Brownwood Police responded to a report of burglary of a vehicle in the 1200 block of 11th Street.  The complainant advised that an unknown suspect(s) broke a window to her vehicle and stole her purse that was located inside.

*10:50am – Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of W. Depot St. for speeding, according to reports.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a citation.  The passenger of the vehicle, Austen Hensen, was arrested on two outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear and Speeding.

*12:45pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding suspicious activity.   A female subject was located and appeared to be under the influence.  She was released to a sober party.

*9:43pm – Brownwood Police responded to 1400 Austin Avenue (Brookshire’s) regarding theft.  The complainant advised police that two male juveniles attempted to steal a bottle of wine.  The juveniles were issued citations for theft <$50 and criminal trespass warnings.

*10:00pm – A Brownwood Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of 1st Street for an unreadable license plate, according to police reports.  The stop led to the arrest of 23-year-old Christopher Silva of Santa Anna for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

*11:50pm – Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run accident in the 1000 block of W. Commerce.  The report states that a parked car was struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene without notifying anyone of the accident.

*Early Police arrested 19-year-old Dallas Burleson of Goldthwaite for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

*Early Police arrested 45-year-old Albert Holland of Zephyr for Driving While Intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 64-year-old Robert Clifton Taber of May for Criminal Mischief.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
