BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 5/21

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of May 13 – 19, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 22 medical emergencies, 4 motor vehicle accident, 5 fire calls, 4 hazardous material calls, and one rescue call.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, May 13

*2:12pm – BFD responded to a rescue call in the 2700 block of Cleburne Ave responded to a man that had been stung multiple times by bees. Fire crews removed victim from scene to Guardian.  Second bee sting victim was also removed from scene and transported to BRMC.  Fire Crews removed bee hive.

Monday, May 14

*5:10pm – Motor vehicle accident at W US 67 involving 2 vehicles.  Provided assistance on the scene.

Wednesday, May 16

*9:43am – Motor vehicle accident at 2000 US 377 involving 3 vehicles. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*12:21 – HAZMAT call to the 1700 block of 3rd St.  Dispatched to remove a deceased body.

*4:28pm – Fire Call in the 1700 block of Ave A.  Fire department dispatched investigate odor in residence.  Found the power cord had shorted. Thermal Camera was used but nothing found.  Fire Marshal was notified.

Thursday, May 17

*6:44pm – HAZMAT call in the 1100 of Magnolia St.  Incident was determined to be a carbon monoxide incident.

*7:50pm – Fire Call at CR 258.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a large hay building with fire showing. Fire was extinguished.

*11:48pm – HAZMAT call in the 1100 of Magnolia St.  Incident was determined to be a carbon monoxide incident.

Friday, May 18

*8:36am – Fire Call in the 100 block of Broadmoor.  Incident was determined to be a cooking fire.  Fire out on arrival.

*12:14pm – Fire Call in the 5300 block of CR 267.   Incident was determined to be a small grass fire. 1/2 acre on fire from a controlled burn. Fire Crews extinguished fire.

*10:58pm – Fire Call in the 1000 block of Durham Ave.   Incident was determined to be a brush being burned in a pit.  Fire Crews informed occupant of city burn codes and extinguished fire.

Saturday, May 19

*12:50am – HAZMAT call in the 1100 block of Magnolia St.  Incident was determined to be a carbon monoxide incident.

*7:10pm – Motor vehicle accident in the 2000 block of Austin Ave involving 2 vehicles. Assisted loading patient into Guardian for transport.

*7:29pm – Motor vehicle accident at the corner of Coggin/Austin involving 2 vehicles with no injuries.
