Ashley_sharonSharon Jean Ashley, age 72, of Brownwood died at her home on Sunday, May 13, following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Emanuel Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Church Cemetery near Blanket under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born July 20, 1939 in Ionia, Michigan the daughter of the late Donald Rasco and Christine Lucean Voss Ashley. She attended college and later worked as a bookkeeper for General Telephone and in the banking industry. She also invested in real estate, buying and remodeling homes to resale. She was a member of the Emanuel Chapel United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Brownwood since the early 80’s.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy Ward and husband Daryl of Brownwood

4 Grandchildren – Stephanie Gentry and husband Wes, Cody Smith and wife Ambrosia, Austin Smith, and Travis Marcee

6 Great Grandchildren – Dalton, Katy and Ryland Gentry, Taren and Dyland Smith, and Eden Marcee

3 Sisters – Donna Stephens and husband Charles of Novice
Marsha Lambert and husband Roy of Sweetwater
Gloria Dennis of Snyder

3 Step Brothers – Kenneth Singleton of California
Mike Singleton and Joe Singleton of Snyder

2 Step-Sisters – Linda Nolan and husband Bob of Wyoming
Dee Ann Preston and husband Jim of Paris, Tx.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Randy and Marty Smith, and a daughter, Ramona Marcee, and two step-brothers, Larry and John Singleton.

As a favorite charity of hers, memorials are requested to be made to The Ark, Brownwood, Texas.
