Early Voting Ends With Larger Than Expected Turnout in Water Board Election

votebuttonEarly voting closed Tuesday in May 12th local elections for Bangs City Council, Early City Council, Early School Board, Blanket City Council, and Brown County Water Improvement District #1.

Officials in the Brown County elections office said that turnout was much larger than expected in the Brown County Water Improvement District #1 election.   Larry Franks in the elections office said that they came close to running out of ballots with almost 600 ballots cast in the water district election alone.

“We ordered 300 ballots for early voting and 300 for election day,” Franks said.  “We used almost all of the ballots for early voting alone.”

Franks said that they have ordered more ballots and they will arrive before Saturday’s election day turnout.

“We will have plenty of ballots on election day,” Franks said.

Early voting totals for May 12th Elections are as follows (numbers recorded 10 minutes before polls closed Tuesday, May 8).

  • Brown County Water Improvement District #1 – 583 ballots cast
  • Bangs City Council – 39 ballots cast
  • Early City Council – 173 ballots cast
  • Early School Board – 278 ballots cast
  • Blanket City Council – 31 ballots cast

Voting for the May 12th elections will be held at the following locations:

City of Bangs: Bangs Community Center

City of Blanket: Blanket Lions Club

Early ISD and Early City Elections:  Early Lions Club

Brown County Water Improvement District will have 2 locations as follows:

–Precinct 306 & 318 eligible voters will vote at the Early Lions Club

–Precincts 101, 105, 113, 202, 204, 303, and 411 eligible voters will vote at the Adams Street Community Center.
