Howard_Payne_logosmallHoward Payne University’s Alumni Association recently awarded 18 students with the HPU Alumni Association Scholarship for the 2012-2013 school year. The scholarship is awarded annually to relatives of HPU alumni as selected by the association’s Scholarship Committee.

This year’s recipients include Brittany Bailey, a sophomore from Georgetown; Carolyn Barnes, a junior from Glen Rose; Olivia Blevins, a freshman from Brownwood; Nathan W. Byrd, a sophomore from Comanche; Jaimie Easley, an incoming freshman from Early; Ethan Halydier, an incoming freshman from San Angelo; Jeff Jackson, an incoming freshman from Brownwood; Ashley Miller, an incoming freshman from Austin; Ben Mohundro, an incoming freshman from De Leon; Emily Murphree, a freshman from Rising Star; Elizabeth Oliver, an incoming freshman from Snyder; Cameron Polaski, a sophomore from Brownwood; Logan Polaski, a freshman from Brownwood; Whitney Presbaugh, a sophomore from Fort Worth; Kristian Simpson, an incoming freshman from Burnet; Mitchell Sostarich, an incoming freshman from Devine; Joshua Woods, a freshman from May; and Brandon Yost, a freshman from Roseville, Calif.

“We are so happy to be able to help students by awarding these scholarships,” said Nancy Heady, HPU’s director of alumni relations. “The money for the scholarships is provided by the Alumni Association from dues paid by alumni when joining the association. The more memberships we have, the more money we are able to award to students. We encourage everyone to join.”

Each recipient will be awarded $800 for the school year. For more information about the Alumni Association Scholarship, contact the alumni office at 1-800-950-8465.
