Four Howard Payne University business students were honored in April as Global Top 100 Performers in the GLO-BUS international business strategy competition.

Justin Bryant, a senior from Amarillo, tied for 1st place in Overall Performance. Chance Taylor, a senior from Gatesville, placed 22nd in Stock Price, 25th in Earnings Per Share, 53rd in Overall Performance and 74th in Return on Equity. Amanda Jenkins, a senior from Argyle, placed 28th in Stock Price and 34th in Earnings Per Share; and Lucas Creed, a senior from Early, won 99th place in Return on Equity.

GLO-BUS is a simulated online exercise in which teams of students run a digital camera company in head-to-head competition against companies run by other class members. The students’ business skills are measured in the following areas: financial analysis, financial management, operations management, marketing management, human resource management, strategic planning/analysis and corporate social responsibility.

Each week, the best-performing GLO-BUS companies are honored as Global Top 100 Performers. During the week of Monday, April 16, through Sunday, April 22, there were 2,748 teams from 145 colleges and universities around the world participating in the simulation.

“We have participated in this competition for the past three years as part of the capstone course experience for our senior business majors,” said Dr. Les Plagens, dean of HPU’s School of Business. “I am very pleased to see how well our students continue to perform in this international competition.”
