Frances Marie Griffin

GriffinFrancesFrances Marie Griffin, 82, of Brownwood joined friends and family members in heaven Sunday, April 29, 2012, following a courageous fight with cancer.  Services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 2:00pm, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating.  A family burial will be held at Cedar Point Cemetery at a later date.

Frances was born July 16, 1929 to Jerome and Arravella Ross Hester Hall in Brown County.  In March 1947, she married Herman K. Griffin and blessed him with ten wonderful children.  Frances spent her entire life in Brown County, worked as a seamstress, a cook at the Bluffview Drive-In Theater, Dairy Maid Restaurant and retired from the Ron Jackson Center/Texas Youth Commission.  Frances enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling, knitting and crocheting, and reading.  In addition, Frances spent many hours caring for her ailing brothers and sisters.

Frances is survived by her sons; Roy Dale and wife Glenda Griffin of Inez, TX, Larry Ross and wife Mary Griffin of Brownwood, TX, Herman Dewayne Griffin of Springfield, MO, and Ira Kavin Griffin of Brownwood, TX, her daughters; Dona Lee Delso of Bangs, TX, Nancy Marie Griffin of Brownwood, TX, Rosie and husband Rick Morris of Brownwood, TX, and Tina Corrine and husband Joel Bradley of Brownwood, TX.  Also left to cherish her memories are 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many favorite nieces and nephews.

Preceding Frances in death were her parents, her husband and two sons, Danny K. Griffin and Jerry Lynn Griffin.  Also preceding her in death were three brothers and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brown County Relay for Life or Lighthouse Hospice.
