F150

Emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon at the corner of Avenue I and 4th Street.

According to witnesses on scene, the 17-year-old driver of a Ford F-150 crew cab pickup ran a stop sign as he traveled southwest on Avenue I striking a Chevy Silverado which was traveling north west on 4th Street.  The sound of the collision drew many neighboring residents out of their homes to see what had happened.

All three teenagers involved sustained minor injuries from the accident, according to emergency responders at the scene.  The female passenger of the Silverado and driver of the F-150 were being transported as a precaution to be evaluated for their injuries according to emergency responders on scene.  The 16-year-old driver of the Silverado complained of neck pain as well.

According to the driver of the Silverado, she was talking her cell phone and did not see the other vehicle run the stop sign.  Her vehicle was pushed sideways into a yard, causing her vehicle to strike a small tree and a telephone pole.  The Silverado sustained front and side damage.  The F-150 had front-end damage as well.

Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department, and Guardian EMS responded to the scene.
