Howard Payne University students recently earned more than $15,000 in pledges during a Phone-A-Thon held to raise funds to renovate the sound system in the university’s Mims Auditorium.

Mid-Tex Cellular provided the cell phones and covered the phone bill for the fundraiser.

“Mr. Rick Gibson (general manager) was very amiable and very willing to work with us to provide whatever we needed, even at the last minute,” said Keren Myers, director of annual giving at HPU.
