Community Participates in Texas Trash Off

DontMessWTexasTrashOffThe City of Brownwood and Keep Brownwood Beautiful announce the Texas Trash Off, a free clean up, on Saturday, April 14th from 8am-2pm under the Bill Monroe Overpass.  This location is the parking lot at Avenues A and Brady, near the Brownwood Intermediate School and Coggin Elementary gym.

The event is to help residents rid their homes of unwanted items and waste.  It is open to those in cars, vans and pickups only.  Trailers must go to the landfill where there will be no charge between the hours of 8am and 2pm.  Loads must be covered and residential only.

 

Acceptable items include the following:

  • Brush
  • Yard debris
  • Household garbage
  • Latex & spray paint (limit 10 gallons)
  • Metal
  • Refrigerators (must be free of food)
  • Stoves
  • Ovens
  • Air conditioning units
  • Anti-freeze
  • Car batteries
  • Passenger car tires (Maximum 8 tires per household.  Tires will not be accepted from tire dealers or resellers.  Must be 20 inches or less.  No tractor or 18-wheeler tires.)
  • Used motor oil (limit 5 gallons)

No hazardous waste will be accepted.

Electronic items accepted include: Computers, monitors, printers, copy machines, fax machines, scanners, cameras, networking equipment, PDAs, batteries, VCR/VCD/DVD players, MP3 players, cell phones, digital cameras.
