CoxClydeFuneral Services for Clyde C. Cox, age 89, of Bangs will be held Friday April 13, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with Dr. Mark Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. He passed away Monday April 09, 2012 in Fredericksburg, Texas. Clyde was born on May 09, 1922 in Pernell, Oklahoma to Hollie and Ada (Chappell) Cox.

Clyde served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 during WWII. He was stationed aboard the USS Seawolf Submarine during that time. He was proud and honored to have served in the U.S. Navy. He married Charlotte (Young) Cox on March 17, 1946 in Brownwood, Texas. Clyde began working in the oil field industry for many years. After leaving the oil field he then worked at Bell Helicopter. After his retirement Clyde kept himself busy by driving the school busses for Bangs ISD. He was a member of “Lynn Snow Post” American Legion in Bangs, Texas for many years and served as Commander. Clyde was also a volunteer firefighter of the Bangs Fire Department. He enjoyed taking care of people and he was known for being able to always lend a helping hand to others.

Survivors include his daughter; Sandra Seelig and husband Winford of Fredericksburg, Texas, son; Roy Cox and wife Martha of San Angelo, foster son; Morris Collier and wife Judy of Pflugerville, Texas. 5 grandchildren; Laci Mooneyham, Derek Seelig, Jessica Semlinger, Joshua Cox, Chad Collier, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 brother; John Cox of Bangs, 1 sister; Allie Molton of Bangs, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollie and Ada Cox, his wife; Charlotte Cox, 1 brother; Carl Cox, and 1 sister; Ila Mae Allison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynn Snow American Legion Post (308) at P.O. Box 463 Bangs, TX 76823 or The Bangs Volunteer Fire Department. Condolences may be left for the family at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.
