Brownwood High School Lady Lions’ Golf Team placed fifth in District at the Brownwood Country Club on Monday, but one of their team members, Macie Maxfield is headed to regionals after firing an 87 in the final round of day 3 in the 5-3A District Tournament.  Maxfield is pictured above.

AMacieMaxfield3ccording to her coach Laura Martin, Macie hurt her shoulder over the weekend.

“Macie hurt her shoulder over the weekend and things weren’t looking very good. After lots of motherly love and a doctor visit Monday morning, Macie showed up determined to go to regionals,” said Coach Martin. “She made up the three strokes she was behind and went ahead three more. I am so proud of her.”

Maxfield (also pictured left) will play next Wednesday and Thursday at San Angelo Country Club in Regional competition.

Coach Martin was happy with the teams’ season stating, “I am proud of all my girls and I am looking forward to next year.”
