BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 4/9

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of April 1-7, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 25 medical emergencies, 4 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire calls, 4 hazardous material calls, 1 animal complaint and an agency assist call.

Sunday, April 1

*5:39pm – BFD was called to a fire in the area of Baker and Victoria Streets regarding a small grass fire. Fire crews arrived and the area of the fire was extinguished.

Tuesday, April 3

*1:15am – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 2400 block of Songbird Circle.  Firefighters arrived on the scene of a reported carbon monoxide poisoning.  Fire Crews investigated with a CO detector; however, nothing was found. The room was all electric with no CO producing sources.

*9:00am – BFD was called to a hazardous materials call in the 2400 block of Songbird Circle.  Fire crews arrived on scene of a reported CO poisoning. Fire Crews investigated with a detector; however, nothing was found.  The entire facility was investigated with no CO detected.

*1:58pm – BFD responded to a three-vehicle accident at Baker and Center Streets.  Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*3:47pm – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of 13th Street.  One occupant was loaded into Guardian EMS ambulance and transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room.

Wednesday, April 4

*2:02pm – BFD was called to a hazardous materials call in the 2400 block of Songbird Circle.  Fire crews arrived on scene to investigate for CO; however nothing was detected.

*2:55pm – BFD was called to a hazardous materials call in the 1300 block of Cottage.  Firefighters arrived on scene to investigate for CO; however nothing was detected.

*3:35pm – BFD was dispatched to an animal complaint in the 500 block of 6th Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to investigate a bee hive.

Thursday, April 5

*10:54am – BFD was called to a fire in the 1900 block of 12th Street. Firefighters discovered an overheated air conditioner motor. No fire was found.

*5:18pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy183S and East River Oaks. During the accident, a single vehicle experienced a rollover.  Fire crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.

Friday, April 6

*9:58pm – BFD was called to an agency assist regarding a small child who was locked inside a vehicle.  Fire crews unlocked vehicle.

Saturday, April 7

*8:50pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 600 block of W Commerce.  Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.
