MurrellGladysFuneral Services for Gladys M. Murrell, age 94, of Brownwood will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with Ted Short officiating. Interment will follow at Coleman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Gladys passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Brownwood. She was born on June 20, 1917 in Milam County, Texas to Ollie Bolton and Ethyl Grace (West) Watson.

She married James Eldred Murrell on September 28, 1935 in Coleman County, Texas. They were married for 53 years. Gladys lived in Jayton, Texas for many years until her retirement and then moved and settled in Brownwood. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was loved by many. She loved quilting, crocheting, and cooking.

 

Survivors include 1 son, Harold Murrell and wife Beth of Crosby, TX; 2 daughters, Renee George and husband John of Houston, TX, Delores Witcher and husband Buddy of Brownwood; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and 1 sister-in-law; Irma Murrell of San Antonio.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Ethyl Watson; husband, James Eldred Murrell; 3 sons, Harlon Murrell, Gene Murrell, and Gerald Murrell; 1 daughter-in-law, Gayle Watson, and 1 brother Earl Watson. Condolences may be left for the family at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.
