Students at Northwest Elementary enjoyed various western themed activities for “Texas Day” on Friday, March 2nd.  Children rotated through different spots on the playground where they waited their turn for events that included hay rides, the boot scramble, a tug-of-war, horseshoes, sack races, bole-bending, and a drop the banana contest.  The event is held annually, and is put together by the school’s Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers.
