Austin’s Avalanche Consulting Hired to Develop Brownwood EDC Strategic Plan

Avalanche Consulting has been awarded a contract with the Brownwood Economic Development Corporation to create an economic development strategy for the community. The consulting firm will kick off the project with the Brownwood EDC in April 2012, which includes a comprehensive competitive assessment, target industry evaluation, and strategic plan.

“We look forward to teaming up with Avalanche Consulting to identify target industry sectors and strategies that will increase jobs and investment in our community,” said Emily Crawford, Executive Director of the Brownwood EDC.

Avalanche Consulting’s principals, Amy Holloway and Chris Engle, have worked with more than 100 economic and workforce development organizations, including recent projects with The Beacon Council in Miami-Dade County, Florida; JAX Partnership in Jacksonville, Florida; and Lowcountry SC Economic Alliance in South Carolina, among others. Since Avalanche’s founding six years ago, the firm’s clients have generated over $3 billion in new capital investment and thousands of jobs for residents.
