Jason & Miranda Benefield, of Brownwood, TX, and Joy Anderson, of San Antonio, TX, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Leigh Benefield, to Matthew Gregory James, son of Adam & Jeannie James, of Haltom City, TX.

The couple met while students at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.

Samantha is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social work at Tarleton State University.  Matthew received his bachelor’s degree in history, with a minor in English, from Tarleton in December 2011.  He
is currently employed as the course materials leader for Follett Bookstore in Stephenville, TX.

Matthew seized the moment at his graduation party to propose to his future bride with both of their families in attendance.  An August 4, 2012, wedding is planned in Fort Worth, TX.
