SmithWandaWanda Lea Harris Smith, age 83, passed peacefully into her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on February 21, 2012.  She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, two loving sisters, brother in laws, husbands and other family members for a joyous celebration.

Funeral arrangements are set at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood for Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM with burial at Wallace Creek Cemetery in San Saba County.  Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Wanda was born on July 14, 1928 in Fairview, Texas to John T. and Lometa Blair.  She married Zane D. Harris on September 30, 1944 and together they raised five children.  After Zane’s death, she married O.J. Smith on February 16, 1989.  They spent many happy years together vacationing and traveling to Blue Grass festivals with family and friends until his death.

Wanda loved people and drew them to her.  She loved life and lived it to the fullest.  She loved square dancing and made many friends, some of whom remained dear to her.  She loved her home, music, gardening, and serving the Lord.  She exemplified a Christian life through her love, kindness, and gentle spirit.

Wanda recently moved into the Vicksburg Retirement Community where she made many new friends, learned to play games, and enjoy a very different and comforting lifestyle.  She will be remembered there for her smile and joking personality.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Ronnie Harris and wife, Donna, Debbie Maultsby and husband, Wayne, Pam Benner and husband, Gerald, Richard Harris, Cindy Reid and husband, Bob; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Travis Blair and sister, Julia Wilson both of San Saba; several nieces, nephews and cousins. We all loved you dearly, and even if you are gone, you shall live in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to The Early Church, 1023 Early Blvd., Early, Texas 76802.  Friends may sign the guestbook at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
