Harriett Carnes

CarnesHarriettHarriett Carnes, age 70 of Brownwood, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2012.  Harriett was born on March 5, 1941 in Brownwood to Harry Cochran and Nellie Dean Byers Cochran.  She was a Pharmacy Tech at Rippetoe Pharmacy in Bangs since 1972 and was a member of the First Christian Church of Brownwood.  Harriett’s greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also loved Colorado, hummingbirds, butterflies and fishing. 

Harriett is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Clayton.  She also leaves her daughter, Terri Kaye Burross of Brownwood; her son, Eddie Carnes and wife, Debbie of Cody, Wyoming; her brother, Mike Cochran of Dallas; her grandchildren, Amanda Snodgrass and husband Craig, Casey Carnes and fiancé Danielle Cerbantez, Cathy Burross, and Jayden Carnes; her great grandchildren, Emily Carnes, Caden Carnes, Kendall Snodgrass, Cole Snodgrass, and Marissa Burross; her brother in law and sister in law, Ben and Nona Carnes of Bangs; and her sister in law, Judy Carnes of Lubbock.  Also left behind to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.  Harriett was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Catherine Alyce Carnes; a brother in law, A.D. Carnes; and a nephew, B.J. Carnes.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Bangs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Funeral Home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.  Friends may sign the guestbook at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com. Arrangements under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
