The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 900 block of Melwood on Sunday afternoon around 3:45pm.
Initial reports indicate that the fire was in the attic of the home, and heavy was visible coming from the roof as firefighters entered the home to extinguish the fire. A wood burning stove in the home may have contributed to the fire.
No injuries were reported during the fire. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family living in the home.
