BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 2/13

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of February 5 – 11, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 16 medical emergencies, 4 motor vehicle accident, 7 fire calls, 1 false alarm, 1 lock out and 1 hazardous materials call.

Tuesday, February 7

*12:42pm – BFD was called to a hazardous materials call in the 100 block of Broadmoor Circle.  A carbon monoxide detector was activated.  BFD performed detection, monitoring and sampling of hazmat.  The fire marshal was contacted and Guardian EMS was notified.

*4:18pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at 1500 Main Street.  Fire crews provided first aid and checked for injuries.

*6:26pm – BFD was called to a brush fire in the 6000 block of FM 45; however units were cancelled en route.

Wednesday, February 8

*2:16pm – BFD was called to a fire on FM 3254 which was determined to be a controlled burn.

Thursday, February 9

*8:44am – BFD was called to a fire in the 100 block of Bonnie Place.  No fire was found, smoke was determined to be steam from the residence’s heater.

*4:31pm – BFD responded to an alarm activation in the 100 block of Ivanhoe Lane, where a life alert alarm was accidentally activated.

Friday, February 10

*3:55am – BFD was called to a fire in the 9200 block of N Hwy 279.  Fire crews assisted Lake Dam Volunteer Fire Department with rekindle of a structure fire. 

*9:52am – BFD was called to a fire on Hwy 67 which was determined to be a controlled burn.

*10:22pm – BFD was called to unauthorized burning in the 1100 block of Magnolia.  Fire crews arrived to find a camp fire in the back yard of residence.  City burn codes were enforced.

Saturday, February 11

*3:16am – BFD was called to unauthorized burning in the 2500 block of Vine Street. Fire crews arrived to find fire in a barrel in the back yard of a residence.  City burn codes were enforced.

*3:35am – BFD was called for a lock out.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find an infant locked in a vehicle.  Fire crews unlocked the vehicle and returned the infant to the grandmother without incident.

*5:57pm – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 900 block of CC Woodson Road.  Fire crews provided first aid and checked for injuries.

*10:38pm – BFD was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 7300 block of CR 200.  Fire crews provided manpower.
