DeAlva Aldridge Snell

SnellDeAlvaFuneral Services for DeAlva Aldridge Snell, 71, of May, Texas will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in May, Texas.  Interment will follow at the Rising Star Cemetery in Rising Star, Texas  The family will receive friends 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Heartland Home in Early, Texas.  She passed away Friday, February 03, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.

DeAlva was born on September 7, 1940 in Rising Star, Texas to Herbert Alvin (Whitey) Aldridge and Mary Etta Burns Aldridge.  She was a graduate of Odessa High School.   DeAlva was married to Charles Bob Snell of Rankin, Texas at his parent’s home, Roscoe and Ethel Snell on April 21, 1956.  They moved to Odessa in 1970 to take over Valve Maintenance Machine Shop and K & S Equipment.   In 1990 they sold the business and retired to their farm and ranch in May, Texas.  They worked side by side whether it was working cattle, farming peanuts, or climbing to the top of a windmill.  Her favorite hobbies were her many pets but, she loved her birds the most.  Her two dogs Jake and Babe were always there by her side.

Husband: Charlie Bob Snell of May, Texas

Sons:   Charles Dee Snell and wife Sheila of Waxahachie, Texas

Alvin Wayne Snell and wife Terry of Lometa, Texas

Sister:  Doris Wise and husband R.P. of Shawnee, Oklahoma

Grandchildren:  Randy Lee and Satanta Pettijohn, Jeff and Patty Pettijohn, Charlie Dee Snell, Lori and Lester Dreher, Roy and Vanessa Snell, Dan Snell

Great Grandchildren:  Colton and Levi Pettijohn, Sydnee Pettijohn, Gabriel Pettijohn, Tate Box, Christian Richardson, Hailey Snell, Logan Dreher, Lydia Dreher, Landon Dreher, Cooper Snell

Great Great Grandchild:  Kimber Richardson

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cheryl Jeanne Pettijohn and great granddaughter Harley Pettijohn
