BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 1/30

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of January 22-28, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 23 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle accident, 2 fire calls, 3 hazardous materials calls and 1 electrical call.

Sunday, January 22

*2:13pm – BFD was dispatched to an electrical problem in the 2000 block of Avenue B.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find tree limbs in the power lines which were arcing.  Oncor was notified of the problem.

*5:59pm – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident at 2001 Austin Avenue, Coggin Park, involving a vehicle which had struck tree.

*7:08pm – BFD was called to the 400 block of Chandler regarding a gas leak.  Firefighters investigated a possible gas leak in the residence. Nothing was detected on the meter.

 

*7:13pm – BFD was dispatched to a brush/grass fire in the 1600 block of County Road 234.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small grass fire in the bar ditch. Fire crews extinguished the fire.

*7:33pm – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 1700 block of Brooks Avenue to investigate a possible carbon monoxide leak.  The CO detector was sounding upon firefighters’ arrival. The source of the leak was found and the detector was reset.

*8:32pm – BFD was called to a grass fire in the 10000 block of CR 225. Three separate fires were located in the same area. All fires were extinguished.  Brookesmith and Winchell Volunteer Fire Departments were also on scene.

Monday, January 23

*6:23pm – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 3000 block of 1st Street. Fire fighters investigated the smell of gas, nothing was found.
