One person was injured Sunday after a one-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of Austin Avenue at Coggin Park.

A Jeep Cherokee struck a tree along the side of the street in Coggin Park around 6pm Sunday as the vehicle was traveling down Austin Avenue.  Emergency responders removed the driver-side door of the vehicle to remove the driver.  Responders also requested transport by AirEvac Lifeteam, but due to windy weather conditions, the helicopter could not be launched, according to initial reports.

The driver was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

No information was available regarding the cause of the accident Sunday evening.

Guardian EMS, Brownwood Fire Department, and the Brownwood Police Department responded to the accident.
