A graveside service for John Allen Stertz, age 70, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held at a later date at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.  Cremation was under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  He passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

John was born on December 2, 1941 in Denver, Colorado to Adam John Stertz and Irene Sipes Stertz.  He was marred to Velma Ruth White on April 16, 1962 in Sterling, Colorado.  He served in the U.S. Army and was a mechanic.

Linda Reis of Westminister, Colorado

9 Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Michael Stertz and one daughter Melanie Stertz.

Heartland funeral home is in charge of arrangement.
