Bernice Chick

ChickBerniceFuneral Services for Bernice Chick, age 96, of Bangs, Texas will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Bangs with Michael Light officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bangs Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.   Mrs. Chick passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 in a Brownwood Nursing Home.

Bernice Chick was born on May 16, 1915 in Fluvanna, Texas to John T. McDonald and Moley Plummer Thomas McDonald.  On, November 26, 1932 she married Truman Robert Chick in Lovington, New Mexico.  A member of the Church of Christ in Bangs, she was very involved in her church and with her family.  Mrs. Chick had lived the majority of her life in Bangs but, had also lived in Sonora, Ballinger and Coleman.

 

Survivors:

Four daughters:           Annie G. (Gerry) Daugherty and husband Guy of Denison, Texas

                                    Joyce Dugger and husband W.T. of Lake Brownwood, Texas

                                    Judy Mast and husband Morey of Bangs, Texas

                                    Joetta Heckaman and husband Jerry of Hamshire, Texas

12 grandchildren:        Karen Zinck, Donna Walker, Mike Daugherty, Bruce Hagler, Steven Hagler,  Jeannie 

                                 Garletts, Debra Dugger, Shelby Mast, Brady Mast, Kevin Heckaman, Cody Heckaman and Heather Lotz

29 Great Grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Sister-in-law:               Bettye Mulsow of Kermit, Texas

Numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, three brothers, one granddaughter 

Wendy Hall and one grandson Dwayne Dugger.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Bangs Church of Christ

Building Fund or Camp Fund.

Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
