Johnny I. Powell

Johnny I. Powell, 65, formerly of Brownwood went to be with his lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Seabrook, TX.

Johnny was born on April 5, 1946 to William David and Ella Ruth (Miller) Powell.  He bravely served his country, in the U.S. Army, during the Viet Nam War.  Johnny graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree.  He married Cathleen Dicus on Nov. 4, 1985, in Mexico.  Johnny and Cathleen had 3 children together.  One of Johnny’s greatest passions was protecting the environment, which he later turned into a career.  He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a generous spirit, and an all around good person.  He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his infant daughter; Rhonda L. Powell, his grandson; Johnny “Dyllan” Franson, his brother; David L. Powell, and his sister; Irene Powell.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years; Cathleen Powell, his son; Jacob Powell, 3 daughters; Johnnie-Marie Powell Franson, Jessicia Powell, and Anna Jeannette, 2 grandchildren; Patrick Michael Franson and Angel’Lee Franson,  4 brothers; Dale Germany, R. J. Germany, Billy Glen Powell, and Lawson Germany, and 3 sisters; Merna Millett, Christine Reeves, and Sue Gray.
