BowersBeverlyBeverly Kaye (Morris) Bowers passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.  Max Evans, of the Living Waters Ministry of Cross Plains, will hold a celebration service at 2:00pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2012, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Zephyr Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3, 2012, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Beverly was born on November 5, 1946, to Eva Ruth Petty and James Austin (Tobe) Morris of Brownwood.  Her maternal grandparents were Maude (King) Petty and Elmer Petty.  Her paternal grandparents were Emily (Collins) Morris and Calvin Morris of the Zephyr Community.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord at the age of 12.  It was the joy of her life that her family were all believers in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

She worked outside the home as a florist for 11 years and as a secretary for 18 years.  No job, however, brought her more joy than being a wife to her husband, Floyd, for 41 years, a mother to their three children and a grandmother to their seven grandchildren.  Floyd preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by her children; Gwen Stone and husband Michael of Brownwood, Christy Chambers and husband Darrin of Early, and Toby Bowers and wife Misty of Brownwood, grandchildren; Sheldon, Mikah, and Grayson Stone, Austin and Amanda Chambers, and Trevor and Tait Bowers, a brother; Gerald Morris and wife Dolores of Zephyr, and an aunt; Leatha Carlisle and husband Joe of Stephenville.  She had beautiful and numerous family members on the Bowers side of her family whom she loved deeply.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
